"It's a class where you can take it seriously and it can be a career for you, or it can be a hobby," said Blake Robbins, wood shop teacher, "Something to express your artistic side."

From March 29th to April 1st, over 70 AVID juniors will embark on an adventure that will change their lives. They will visit universities in Santa Barbara, Channel Islands, Bakersfield, and San Luis Obispo, and stay at the La Cuesta Hotel.

The lights go up. Everyone in the room is filled with anticipation. No one knows what to expect.

The directors are backstage with fingers crossed. It's out of their hands now. All they can do is hope for the best.

"It's just our way of saying 'thank you' to the veterans," said Lt. Col. Thomas Jahnke, head of the ROTC program.

Sultana cheerleaders are here to give the school spirit, and raise self-esteem so sports can go out there and win.

All the years that cheer has been here at Sultana High School, they have only cheered for football, basketball, and some years wrestling. This year, 09-10, the cheerleaders are going to start cheering for as many sports as possible.
